INTRODUCTION ABOUT UCL
UCL was established in the year 1826 to open up higher education in the UK for those who had been suspended from it. Becoming the 1st university in England to accept both women and men in the year 1878.
UCL has the best academic to student ratio in England i.e.1:10, allowing small class sizes with outstanding individual support .
Academic excellence and research that addresses real world difficulties and problem inform our ethos till this day and are central to our twenty year strategy, UCL 2034.
EDUCATION AT UCL
UCL is one of the two top universities in the UK by the number of professors, which means that the students are taught by the most highly qualified teachers and professors in their field.UCL delivers an environment that encourages students to be both ambitious and idealistic. In 2013 UCL students participated in 41,500 hours of volunteering work and set up eighty social enterprises and twenty-five student businesses.

ADMISSION AT UCL
Admission at UCL is highly selective and particular. For undergraduate entry several of UCL's courses require 3 A grades in A Level, or a grade equivalent of 6,6,6 on the International Baccalaureate Program. Due to a very huge proportion of applicants getting the highest school grades, UCL along with universities such as Imperial College London and the University of Cambridge, is one of the first universities in the UK to put into practice the use A* grade at A-Level (popularized in 2010) for the admissions of courses including Economics, European Social, Political Studies, Law, Medicine, Theoretical Physics and Psychology, Mathematics.
Undergraduate law candidates are called for to take the National Admissions Test for Law students, and undergraduate medical candidates are required to take a Bio Medical Admissions Test. Candidates for European Social and Political Studies are enforced to take the Thinking Skills Assessment test should they be accepted for an assessment day. Some of the UCL departments interview undergraduate candidates prior to making an attempt of admission.
UCL'S CAMPUS AND LOCATION
UCL is primarily located in the Bloomsbury area of the London Borough of Camden, Central London. The prime campus is located around Gower Street and comprises of biology, history, economics, engineering, geography, chemistry, languages,philosophy and physics departments, management, mathematics , the pre clinical facilities of the UCL Medical School,the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology , theSlade School of Fine Art, the UCL Union, the main UCL Library, the UCL Science Library, the Bloomsbury Theater, the London Centre for Nanotechnology , the Grant Museum of Zoology and the affiliated University College Hospital. Near Bloomsbury are the UCL Cancer Institute, the UCL Faculty of the Built Environment,the UCL School of Public Policy , the UCL Institute of Archaeology, the UCL Institute of Education, The Bartlett, the UCL School of Pharmacy,the UCL Faculty of Laws and the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies.
RANKING AND REPUTATION OF UCL
UCL is frequently ranked as one of the world's leading universities. In the year 2015 Academic Ranking of World Universities, UCL was ranked joint eighteenth in the world and 3rd in Europe. In the subject tables it is rated eighth in the world and 2nd in Europe in the field of Clinical Medicine & Pharmacy, joint between seventy-sixth and hundredth in the world and joint thirteenth in the whole Europe for Engineering, Technology , Computer Sciences. Ninth in the world and second in Europe for Life & Agricultural Sciences, conjoint 51st to 75th in the whole world for Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
